Cape Froward, the southernmost point of the continental world, along with glaciers, humpback whales, sei whales, Peale’s dolphins, Commerson’s dolphins, and Magellanic penguins, are just some of the natural wonders found in this remote southern region of the Strait of Magellan and Tierra del Fuego.
In one of the most pristine and remote places on Earth, this full-day adventure invites you to experience nature in its purest form. Departing early from Punta Arenas, we’ll travel by bus approximately 50 km (31 miles) south to the embarkation point, where we’ll begin a breathtaking 10-hour navigation.
This unforgettable journey offers a unique landscape of mountains, glaciers, and forests of lenga and coihue trees. The abundance and proximity of marine wildlife is truly astonishing—sea lions, petrels, cormorants, Peale’s dolphins, and more will make you feel immersed in nature.
The maritime itinerary includes: Departure from Punta Carrera → Punta Santa Ana (site of Fuerte Bulnes) → San Isidro Lighthouse → Cape Froward → Cape Holland → Rupert Island → English Pass → Shag Pass → Seno Helado → return to Punta Carrera.

04:00 Arrival at the departure point: José Nogueira #1255, Punta Arenas
04:15 Transfer to Bahía Carrera, the embarkation point located 50 km south of Punta Arenas, to board the boat.
06:00 Departure from Bahía Carrera. Start of the navigation through the legendary Strait of Magellan, witnessing the majesty of the sunrise over Tierra del Fuego.
07:30 Passing by Cape Froward, the southernmost point of the South American continent, featuring the Cross of the Seas.
10:00 - 15:00 Navigation through the "Francisco Coloane" Marine Park area, observing humpback whales, Magellanic penguins, cormorants, skuas, petrels, albatrosses, sea lions, elephant seals, and occasionally orcas. The tour also includes visits to glaciers on Santa Inés Island (Helado Glacier and Pedro Sarmiento de Gamboa Glacier).
