Punta Arenas City Tour regular

Price per person; ask about rates for more than one passenger.

Punta Arenas is the capital of Chilean Patagonia and a launching point for numerous expeditions to the Antarctic continent.
Founded in 1848 at the southern tip of South America, Punta Arenas was initially established as a penal colony and later became a thriving hub for European immigrants and settlers from the Chiloé Archipelago.
On this tour, we’ll visit Cerro de la Cruz, a scenic lookout offering colorful views of the city, the Strait of Magellan, and Tierra del Fuego Island. We’ll then head to Muñoz Gamero Square, the historic heart of Punta Arenas since the late 19th century. Here, you’ll find vibrant local activity, artisan craft stalls perfect for souvenir shopping, the monument to Ferdinand Magellan, and neoclassical buildings once owned by wealthy livestock barons.
The tour continues (depending on interest) with a visit to one of the city’s fascinating museums or the beautifully maintained cemetery.
Before returning to the hotel, we’ll explore the northern part of the city, home to several iconic monuments, including tributes to the shepherd, the Croatian immigrant, and the region’s oil industry.
