King Penguin Park (Shared)

Full-day excursion to explore the northern part of the main island of Tierra del Fuego, visiting the small town of Porvenir and the king penguin colony at Bahía Inútil.
The morning begins with a transfer to the Puentes terminal to board a two-hour ferry to Porvenir on Tierra del Fuego Island. From Puentes, we will cross the Strait of Magellan, a historic 583 km (362 mi) long channel connecting the waters of the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.
After lunch, the journey continues along the shores of Bahía Inútil, crossing an island that amazes with its endless pampas and a horizon stretching into infinity
Along the way, you’ll be able to spot various bird species, sheep ranches, and herds of guanacos, a South American camelid related to the llama and alpaca. After approximately 114 km (71 miles) of travel, we will arrive at King Penguin Park, home to a permanent colony of this species—the second largest penguin in size after the Emperor penguin.
These large penguins are the best divers, capable of diving to great depths to reach areas rich in squid. During the summer season, it’s also possible to see some chicks.
We will leave the park heading toward Primera Angostura, the narrowest point of the Strait of Magellan, only 5 km wide. From there, we will cross back to the mainland on a 20-minute ferry. Afterward, we will take a route of approximately 200 km (124 miles) to return to Punta Arenas.
