Welcome to the blog
Summary shown in the listing.
The excursion begins with the pickup of passengers from their accommodation early in the morning. From there, we drive approximately 75 km (47 miles) to the place where the South American continent ends and the hike begins.
The hike follows a mostly coastal trail along the beach for about 4 km (2.5 miles), taking approximately 1.5 hours to complete. While the walk can be physically demanding, the reward is reaching the historic lighthouse located at the southern tip of the Brunswick Peninsula. This lighthouse once served as a vital navigation point for ships daring to cross the Strait of Magellan at the turn of the century. The return hike follows the same beach route. Along the way, it’s often possible to spot whales and dolphins swimming in the waters of the Strait.
