Easy Trekking At Laguna Parrillar

Parrillar Reserve is located 40 km (25 miles) southwest of the city of Punta Arenas. It covers more than 18,000 hectares and was established in 1977 to protect Laguna Parrillar, the area’s main water reservoir, where brown trout and rainbow trout fishing are commonly practiced.
The excursion begins by following the shore of the Strait of Magellan southbound, then taking a gravel road that leads up to the entrance of the Parrillar Forest Reserve. Once inside, we will take an easy 1.5-kilometer hike along Laguna Parrillar and through the Patagonian deciduous forest, where you can observe various plant species such as calafate berries, sarsaparilla, peat, mosses, and lichens. Birdwatchers may spot species like the thrush, the tiuque, the chincol, and the carancho, among others. The return follows the same path.
