The Rupestre Archaeological Circuit is a magical journey inviting visitors to experience the region’s nature and history in a unique way. The route allows guests to view ancient rock paintings, explore hidden caves, walk through native forests, and enjoy the stunning view from the summit of Cerro Bení- tez overlooking the beautiful Laguna Sofía and the surrounding mountains. From the top, you can closely observe condors soaring overhead, offering an unmatched natural spectacle.
Along the way, fascinating stories about local history and culture are shared, highlighting the biological diversity of the environment and providing an immersive, one-of-a-kind experience.
The route covers 6.4 km (4 miles) and takes approximately 3 to 5 hours, depending on the pace and interest of each visitor during interpretive stops. It is suitable for people of all levels, offering the opportunity to immerse oneself in both the rich history and biodiversity along the trail.
